Moon Madness

Full moon tonight and I must pay debt
Usurious Luna, merciless and cold
Comes through my window to collect her due
In hours of sleeplessness, a hundred-fold.
For what I took from her of lust, of love
Of murmurings on silken summer nights
She now reclaims full measure, yes and more
Turning to loneliness, those dear delights.

I wander here, I wander there Yet through my window see That quivering, shimmering dead-white face That will not let me be.... O Evil MOON - O Wanton MOON, I'll draw my curtains tight And let the walls close in on me This deadly, eerie night Would I could mould my loneliness And hurl it into space And use its blackness like a shroud To hide Selena's Face....
